Frequently asked questions
Find answers to common questions about our tutoring service, scheduling, pricing, subjects, and getting started.
Is the first session really free?
Yes. Your first session is free with no credit card required. Try us out before you buy tutoring hours.
What subjects do you offer?
Math, functions, advanced functions, calculus and vectors, data management, biology, chemistry, and physics for students in Grades 6 to 12.
How do tutoring hours work?
Buy a prepaid tutoring hour package and use the hours whenever you need them, for any subject or any of your children. Tutoring hours never expire.
Can I use tutoring hours for multiple children?
Yes. Tutoring hours work for any of your children within the chosen grade band (Middle School, Grades 6–8, or High School, Grades 9–12), for any subject. Perfect for families with multiple students.
Do I need to commit to a schedule?
Tutoring works best as a weekly routine, so we take on students who can meet at least once a week. There's no contract, you can pause or stop anytime, and unused hours never expire.
What if I need to cancel?
Cancel up to 6 hours before your session. No fees.
Can I book individual sessions?
Yes. You can book single hours at the standard rate. Bundles just give you better savings.
Do you follow the Ontario curriculum?
Yes. Our tutoring follows the Ontario math and science curriculum from Grades 6 to 12, including Grade 9 destreamed math, high school science, and senior courses such as functions, calculus, biology, chemistry, and physics.
What grades do you tutor?
We work with Ontario students in Grades 6 to 12: middle school students in Grades 6 to 8 and high school students in Grades 9 to 12.
Can you help if my child is behind in an Ontario course?
Yes. We start by figuring out where the gap is, then work through the missing skills in a manageable order. Sometimes that means reviewing older material before the current homework starts to make sense.
Do you help with EQAO and Ontario high school exams?
Yes. We help Grade 6 and Grade 9 students prepare for EQAO math, and we support math and science unit tests, culminating assignments, and final exams.
Is online tutoring effective for Ontario students?
Yes, when sessions are structured well. Online tutoring works best when the tutor can see the student's work, explain concepts clearly, use a shared screen or whiteboard, and keep the session focused. It also makes scheduling easier for busy families.
